- What is i 2 i ?

I2i is System i software created by Sentinex, Inc. for direct iPhone access to System i data and applications. Distinct i2i software products, called widgets, perform key business functions for iPhone to System i connectivity.

- What is i 2 i software written in?

Customary System i RPG and CL tools join standard internet building blocks: HTML, PHP, Javascript, CSS, DOM and AJAX. Web-based services, like Google Charts API, are also included in many i2i widgets.

- What are the system requirements for i 2 i ?

I2i runs on any server running IBM i OS V5R2 or higher and with any iPhone client. No need for plug-ins, middleware software, intermediary PC servers nor any specialized knowledge like HTTP or XML.

- Can I use a Blackberry instead of an iPhone?

Yes. I2i’s framework is adaptable for any mobile device equipped with an internet browser. Sentinex customers specify the mobile devices to be used and appropriate screen renderings for those devices are deployed.

Access your System i data from an iPhone, bypassing your RPG applications entirely. Once installed on your IBM i server, iPhone users enjoy compelling visual renderings of your System i data using all the latest iPhone features. i 2 i   Lookup  features Auto-Suggest picklist capability for fast data and image lookups. User password sign-on security is provided as an option.

Use your iPhone to take an  i 2 i   Lookup  test drive of an inventory item lookup.

 It is an Item Inquiry application that queries an African Arts database for items containing the search word.
The request to the server is first issued after the 3rd character is entered and then again for every character after that.

Some example search words would be 'African', 'Masai', 'ebony', 'carving' etc. Click on the 'suggested' item to see the item details and an image.

No Cell Signal?

An Offline order entry mode books sales at customer locations with no cell signal. Offline orders are automatically uploaded to the System i as soon as a cell signal is available. An automatic order confirmation email to the customer completes the process.
